If you need only a single rom or overlay go to roms and overlays.

You can play Vectrex games not only on your Vectrex but also on other systems.

For PC users their are several emulators. The best ones seems to be MESS and ParaJVE.

ParaJVE comes packed with all the roms (original and freeware homebrew) and overlays. On my crappy laptop it only runs at 100% if I disable all the fancy stuff.

There is also an emulator for android (runs smooth, only problem is tiny controls).

Or in your browser, VecX for html5. Very cool!

Quick guide to Mess (I have tested this in an old windows version of Mess release 0611b):

  • put system.img in the map bios/vectrex (link to bios)

  • put overlays (unzipped) in artwork/vectrex (link to overlays)

  • put roms in software/vectrex (link to roms)

You can also download Mame to run the original vector Arcade games. I have a set of roms here, including Battle Zone, Star Wars, Star Castle, Sundance, Tempest, Warrior, etc.

Not tested since I don't have the hardware (anymore):

  • ParaJVE is also available for Mac Os X and Linux

  • For Mac users check this site for Vecx.

  • Ipad or Iphone Vectrex regeneration.

  • For Dreamcast users, you can play Vectrex (only 60% of speed) on your console (email me for diskimage).

  • XBox360 should check Vecx-360.

  • There are also emulators for PSP, PS2, GP32 (use Google).
